Classic Bev

So it’s been a week since I graduated, and what a blur it’s all been! The past two weeks have literally been insane. Exam week went by really quickly, all I had to do was study for an exam on Thursday. We had an FYS reunion on Wednesday night and it was really great to see everyone together again. Like I’ve said before, most of those people I see on a daily basis, but some I haven’t seen since freshman year.

Right after my exam on Thursday, I packed up to head to the airport on Friday afternoon. Amanda, my twin, graduated on Saturday morning, so I missed some of my senior weekend to be with her. I’m so glad I went, though, especially because I got to see my extended family (my grandfather, my aunt, my cousin, and his wife) in addition to one of my other sisters and my mom (Caroline stayed home, on account of my adorable nephew). It was so weird watching her graduate, because I realized that in two days, that would be me. I didn’t have a lot of time to dwell, however, because I had to hop on an earlier-than-expected flight back to Ohio in order to miss a tornado (ahhh!!) and manage to get back to Wooster earlier than 1am.

In Wooster, Senior Weekend was in full force. That Friday is the last night at the Underground, so it’s a huge dance party for all of the seniors. It ends with a midnight breakfast in Kittridge that I missed out on, but I went to it last year, so I pretty much had a good feeling for everything. The Peanuts had a big barbeque with the Sigs that afternoon and I managed to catch the very beginning. Sunday was Baccalaureate and I actually really enjoyed it. It’s so surreal to sit there in your cap and gown and NOT graduate, though. Sunday night was the huge party at Kendarden for all of the seniors and their families. Because of the rain, we had to move it to Lowry (where there were already tents set up). I was only going to stay for five minutes because I was so exhausted from traveling, but I ended up staying for over three hours!!! Capped off my night with a late-night run to McDonald’s and some TV watching and headed to bed for about three hours before Commencement the next morning.

Commencement was quite the rainy affair. We didn’t get to have it in the Oak Grove because of the weather, so we graduated in the gymnasium instead. I honestly didn’t mind that much, my only issue was the fact that we didn’t get to process through the Arch. Fortunately, my friend Addy snagged some bag pipers and we headed over to the Arch for an impromptu walk anyway. This whole weekend was so strange, especially saying goodbye to everyone. I honestly have yet to get truly emotional (though I have some friends who are doing it enough for the both of us, haha). I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I’m staying on campus for the time being. Just giving tours and interviews and spending time with everyone left on campus, which luckily for me is a ton of my friends.
